Do you know in some countries, there are more mobile phones than the total population in the country? According to wikipedia, at least in 28 countries/regions, there are more active cellphones than the total population, including Russia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, UK, Ukraine, Spaine, Argentina, Poland, Taiwan, Romain, etc.

According to CTIA (Cellular Telecommunication Internet Association, the trade association of mobile phone companies in the US), by the end of Dec 2010, there are 302.9 million mobile subscribers (users).
Among these 302.9M users, 123.2 million are 3G subscribers.
What does this mean? 123.2 Million cellphone users might visit your website on their cellphone!

In the Feb 2011 issue of the Internet Retailer magazine, there is article titled: how today's smartphone and computers change retailers' site design strategies. In the article, the president of of AmericanEagle.com, Michael Svanascini, argued that aesthetic appeal no long drives e-retail web site design. Today, retailers need to think more about designing sites compatible with the growing variety of devices consumes used to access the web.
