I want to design my own website, can you provide some web design resources for me?
Of course, we are a strong believer of DIY. If you are capable of doing everything on your own, or you want to try it out first, here are some useful resources for you. Information here is for reference only. Some resources might be offline if the owner tries to close his/her website. We try our best to make it up to date.

Free softwares
- Kompozer - free html editor: A great WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML editor. A great tool if you want to edit HTML directly or do a quick layout.
- GIMP - free photo editor: A great photoshop alternative. Works on Mac or Windows.
- InkScape-free vector editor: A Great Adobe Illustrator alternative.
- IrfanView - free picture editor & viewer: Mainly a picture viewer but can do great things. We use it to batch process pictures for online delivery. Imagine you want to resize 1000 pictures all at once. This software can do the magic.
- WinSCP - free FTP,SCP,SSH client: Use it to upload your websites to your server. It only works on Windows though.

- free stock pictures: More than 11000+ professional public domain images free for use.
- Republic Domain: Free public domain pictures.
- Free Images Collection: A collection of copyright-free, high resolution images.
- public-domain-photos.com: 5000 public domain photos and over 8000+ cliparts.
- 4freephotos.com:Public domain images.
- freestockphotos.biz:A large collection of Public Domain, GNU, Creative Commons or custom licensed stock photos and clip arts.
- photos8.com: Over 11k free photos.
- arspublik.com: A great collection of public domain images from around the web, hand-selected for use in web and graphic design. No search function though.
- public domain pictures.net: A large collection of high quality pictures for free.
- public-photo.net: Moka Gallery - All photo from this site is 100% free for use.
- easystockphotos.com: Collection of public domain photos organized by category in image galleries.
- pdclipart.org: 25,000+ Public Domain Clip Arts (great for printing).
- finallycreative.com/gallery/: Hundreds of categorized photos free for public use. Images added frequently.
- opengalleries.org: A community source of free photography, hosting several galleries with photos from all over the world.
- FreeFOTO.com: freefoto is made up of 131864 images with 181 sections organized into 3623 categories. Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License only. You can use the pictures for schools, churchses, etc. Small payment for commercial use.

- HTML special characters: The name says it all.
- Adobe Color Palette generator: A great page. Powered by Adobe.
- Color palette generator: You can upload a picture to this website and it will generate a color palette for you.
Some softwares that we use
- Adobe illustrator: We are still using version CS1 on our mac. It serves us well.
- Adobe photoshop: We are still using version CS1 on our mac.
- Apple Final Cut Studio: The best video editor. We use version 7.
